Exercise 1: PC with router

  1. Draw a topology and attach IP-addressing to the devices
  2. Write down that the clock is (Exact time)
  3. Connect a computer directly with a router
  4. Give them IP-addresses of your choice from the network 111.22.3.0 that has the subnetmask of 255.255.255.0
  5. Test with ping from both the router and the computer
  6. Write down that the clock is (Exact time)
  7. Calculate how long time it took to complete this exercise and document it in your table above
  8. Show a instructor your "Personal results table" before you move on to the next assignment
  9. Take down all of the cables used in this exericse, clean and reboot the router and remove the addressing you configured on the computer

Exercise 5: Two computers

INCASE of not having access to two computers in the pod-station you are working in. Go to B113, or talk with your labpartner so you have access to two computers by yourself

  1. Draw a topology and attach IP-addressing to the devices
  2. Write down that the clock is (Exact time)
  3. Connect two computers together
  4. Give them IP-addresses of your choice from the network 1.2.3.0 that has the subnetmask of 255.255.255.0
  5. Make sure that windows-firewall is disabled on both computers(This can interfere with ping/traceroute)
  6. Test with traceroute from both computers
  7. Write down that the clock is (Exact time)
  8. Calculate how long time it took to complete this exercise and document it in your table above
  9. Take down all of the cables used in this exericse and remove the addressing you configured on the computer

Exercise 6: 2 Computers with a router inbetween

  1. Draw a topology and attach IP-addressing to the devices
  2. Write down that the clock is (Exact time)
  3. Connect two computers together with a router inbetween
  4. Create two networks with the prefix 2001:6b0:1d:: that has the subnetmask of /64
  5. Give them IP-addresses of your choice from the two networks where the first network is located on one side of the router, while the second network is on the other side.
  6. Make sure that windows-firewall is disabled on both computers(This can interfere with ping/traceroute)
  7. Test with traceroute from both computers and the router
  8. Write down that the clock is (Exact time)
  9. Calculate how long time it took to complete this exercise and document it in your table above
